Charly Charney Cohen is an actor and creator based in Los Angeles. Charly originally started their acting journey through public school programs in the Pacific Northwest and then continued on to USC, where they received a B.A. in Theatre. Since then, they have appeared in various theatre and film productions in the Los Angeles area.

Informed by their background as a queer, Jewish, third-culture-kid, Charly finds that their unique perspective allows them to approach each role in a distinctive way.

Charly’s memorable roles include originating and devising the role of Nocturne in “Stardust: An Immersive Theatre Experience,” playing Loki in the immersive theatre production “Ascend: When Myths Fall, Heroes Rise” which won an Encore award at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, portraying Molly in the short film “Therapists” by award-winning writer/director Josh Litman, and playing Gipton in the play “Mansfield Park” directed by Jeremy Skidmore.

Charly enjoys playing folkloric tricksters and troublemakers, and is easily cast as the empathetic friend or cheeky outsider.

Charly is also a professional costume designer and photographer, disciplines which inform their approach to storytelling. In their free time, they enjoy playing tabletop games and spending time with small pets.

Charly is dedicated to making stories they love and are proud to be a part of. Please take a look at their headshots, media, and resume, and feel free to contact them for any potential projects.
